This network launched in January, 2016 with the purpose of looking at the issues
common among Asian Australian academics. And like the other networks within AAA
advocacy projects will be developed. The MAAA will also act as the vehicle think tank
for AAA, and work across the network to look at supporting the advocacy projects of
AAA. Currently, the MAAA has the following projects:
Culturally diversity initiative
Asian Australian Heritage Week
White Australia Policy redress
Asian Australian Studies
International Asian diaspora collaborations
There are plans to expand this network in 2020, and MAAA is looking for Asian Australian academics interested in being involved in this space! Contact us on our “Contact page” if you are interested!
